About Me

I'm an award winning singing teacher, inventor, and serial entrepreneur. I have a passion for the voice, musical theatre, and making things. I co-host the Five Minute Call - a podcast that explores the lives and stories of theatre makers. And I'm also an archer and keen amateur astronomer.I've been engaged in voice education for the past 12 years, delivering one-to-one teaching, masterclasses, lectures, and online courses. As well as developing and patenting a new straw phonation tool (called the Resono), and authoring a #1 Amazon "Most Wished For" book on the physics of singing straws.I was the 2019 recipient of the CCFL Outstanding Singing Teacher Award for my contributions to voice education, and I was also a Finalist at the 2023 Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

Education

I've studied at institutions all over the world, including the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (Vocal Technique), London College of Music (Teaching Voice), Netherlands Theater t'Extpierement (Teaching Voice), New York Vocal Coaching (Vocal Pedagogy), Middlesex University (Psychology & Music), HarvardX (Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence), and am currently working toward my Vocal Process Accreditation.

Teaching

I currently offer one-to-one singing lessons from The Music Studios in London, where I aim to provide a comfortable and open environment to empower singers to develop their voices and performance. Each voice is unique - and through a bespoke approach to each individual, I help singers discover the right techniques and methods for them to facilitate the development of their unique voice, sound, and identity.Together, we will build a stronger, healthier voice, implement routines and strategies to enable you to train more effectively, develop your own interpretation and deep understanding of your repertoire, as well as provide ongoing maintenance and adjustments to ensure your voice is always working for you.

Alongside my one-to-one teaching, I've taught all around the UK and Internationally delivering a variety specialist voice lectures, masterclasses, and workshops.Lectures include: Vocal Health First Aider Training (VHE), SOVT Singposium (Association of Teachers of Singing), and the Beyond the Boundaries for the Amplified Vocalist Symposium (British Voice Association), SingSeptember Live (British Association of Barbershop Singers).Masterclasses/Workshops include: Stagecoach Performing Arts Schools teacher training convention, Studio26 in The Netherlands, for the cast of Les Misérables in the West End, the Institute of Contemporary Music, the London School of Musical Theatre, as well as a workshop at MusicalCon.

No-Show
If a student fails to show up for a scheduled lesson without prior notice, the full lesson fee will be charged.
Teacher Cancellations
In the rare event that I (the teacher) must cancel or reschedule a lesson, there will be no charge to the student. Every effort will be made to accommodate a make-up lesson at a mutually convenient time.
Make-Up Lessons
Make-up lessons may be offered if the student provides proper notice (48 hours or more) and if scheduling permits. However, repeated cancellations, even with 48-hour notice, may result in limited availability for make-up lessons.

ILLNESS POLICY
I work with many professional singers whose voices are their livelihood. As such, they take great care in protecting their vocal health and avoiding illness. Additionally, I am currently undergoing immune-therapy and have a compromised immune system. Therefore it is critical that we maintain a healthy environment for everyone. If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, no matter how minor, please do not attend your lesson in person. Please let me know as soon as possible and we will conduct your session online instead. Alternatively, we can reschedule your session if the notice period is given.Should you arrive for an in-person lesson while visibly or audibly unwell and without prior notice, you may be asked to leave, and you will not receive a refund for that session.Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep everyone healthy. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
